Thomas Anderson, also known as Drag Queen Sasha Spudz, has started his epic journey today (22nd February 2023) walking from Colchester, Essex to Great Yarmouth Norfolk. He plans to complete his journey in as little time as possible
Thomas, a former resident of Great Yarmouth, has taken this huge task in order to improve his Menthal Health and raise awareness and His fundraising efforts will go towards the vital services of charity Mind.
Thomas Said “ I would love to complete the journey in 24hrs, However, I don’t think that would be possible”
The journey began today, leaving from Colchester North Station, traversing through Dedham, Ipswich, Southwold and Lowesoft before reaching Great Yarmouth Station.
Suffering with mental health issues himself, Thomas believes the journey will bring many benefits. He said “ I love Great Yarmouth anyway, so I would be really happy to spend a few days there afterwards. I suffer with mental health myself, so the act of walking to a place I really like will help a lot with mindfulness.”
Thomas plans to keep himself entertained on his mammoth walk by listening to music, watching youtube videos and occasionally going live on facebook to talk to his friends and supporters.
We asked Thomas what he plans to do on arriving in Great Yarmouth and having that well deserved rest. He said “I have some great friends in Great Yarmouth, so I think we will have a meal then go to the pub and have a few drinks to celebrate.”
When asked why he chose to support Mind, Thomas added “I think mental health services, such as the Mind charity are hugely important, they are severely stretched at the moment with finances, and they need a lot of help. Whether people donate £1 or £10, anything can help. Let’s all work together to beat mental health, mental health can’t beat us.”
