“Limitless Voices” is a community-led storytelling initiative by Great Yarmouth & Waveney Pride. We believe that every member of the LGBTQ+ community has a story that deserves to be heard—not just the stories that fit into neat boxes, but the raw, honest, and intersectional realities of living in our region today.
Our community is a tapestry of different backgrounds and identities. This project aims to provide a platform for those voices that are often sidelined, spoken over, or ignored.
Our Aims and Goals
The “Limitless Voices” project is built on three core pillars:
1. Visibility Through Authenticity: We aim to move beyond surface-level representation. We want to showcase the diverse reality of our community, ensuring that every identity within the LGBTQ+ spectrum has a space to be seen and heard authentically.
2. Unwavering Solidarity: We believe that the struggle for equality is interconnected. We are sharing these stories to strengthen our community as a whole, but especially to stand with our trans family who are currently under sustained attack by both local and national political rhetoric. When one part of our community is targeted, we know that the rights of all of us are at risk. We refuse to let our siblings be isolated.
3. Driving Real Change: This isn’t just about “awareness.” We want these stories to spark conversations that lead to action. Whether it’s holding local leaders and businesses accountable for true inclusion or challenging the hateful misinformation directed at our community, we want these voices to be the catalyst for a safer, more inclusive Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
