Big news, GYWPride family!
We are absolutely buzzing to share some massive news with all of you. We have officially been nominated for “Pride Organisation of the Year” at the Gaydio Awards 2026!
The ceremony is taking place in Manchester on Friday, 20th March, and we are still pinching ourselves.
What This Means to us: When we started this journey, we were just a few people with a passion for building a stronger, more vibrant LGBTQ+ community right here in Great Yarmouth. To go from those first grassroots meetings to being recognised on a national stage is honestly overwhelming.
For us, The Trustees of GYWPride, this nomination isn’t just about a trophy. It’s a testament to the heart and soul of our community. Every volunteer, every attendee at our events, and every person who has championed us since day one is a part of this. You are the reason we do what we do.
A huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate us. You’ve made our year!
We couldn’t let such a fabulous occasion go by without a bit of flair. Our very own Trustee Sol will be attending the ceremony as the one and only Bigg Taystee!
Sol is currently putting the finishing touches on some incredible award show couture, and trust us—they are going to fit right in among the icons and celebrities at the Gaydio Awards.
We know you’re all part of this journey with us, so we want you to be right there in the thick of it. We’ll be sharing the excitement throughout the night, with Bigg Taystee documenting all the behind-the-scenes magic, the red carpet moments, and the general “jazz” of the evening.
