Get ready to be inspired! We at Great Yarmouth Pride are thrilled to share the incredible upcoming adventure of Dex and Tom, a wonderful queer couple with deep roots in our very own Norfolk.
These two intrepid individuals are about to embark on a truly monumental challenge: hiking a staggering 466 kilometers (that’s over 289 miles!) from the sunny climes of Nice, France, all the way to the picturesque city of Geneva, Switzerland. Their chosen path? The legendary GR5 trail, a demanding and breathtaking long-distance route through stunning European landscapes.
But Dex and Tom aren’t just lacing up their hiking boots for the thrill of it. They’re using this incredible journey as a powerful platform to raise much-needed funds and awareness for LGBTQ+ Project (Norfolk). This vital charity provides crucial mental health and wellbeing support for LGBTQ+ individuals across our home county. In a world where feeling safe, seen, and supported is paramount, the work they do is truly life-changing.
Throughout June, Dex and Tom will be documenting their entire experience, from the highs of reaching a scenic vista to the challenges of wild camping each night. They’ll be sharing daily updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and campaign content on their Instagram and TikTok accounts: dexandtomadventure. We highly encourage you to follow along and witness their inspiring journey firsthand!
While we at Great Yarmouth Pride are currently gearing up for our own celebrations in September, we are wholeheartedly supporting Dex and Tom’s incredible endeavor. We’ll be following their progress closely and will be sharing updates right here on our blog and across our social media channels.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support a local charity making a real difference in the lives of LGBTQ+ people in Norfolk. Let’s rally behind Dex and Tom as they take on this epic challenge for such a worthy cause.Stay tuned for more updates on Dex and Tom’s “Hiking for Hope” journey! We’ll be sharing their photos and stories as they make their way across Europe. In the meantime, be sure to follow them on Instagram and TikTok and consider showing your support for LGBTQ+ Project (Norfolk).
