Got to be Real: Your Art, Your Pride, Your Exhibition!

Exciting news is blooming here in Great Yarmouth and Waveney! Get ready to unleash your creativity because Great Yarmouth and Waveney Pride are teaming up with the fantastic originalprojects; to bring you a unique opportunity: an Open Exhibition showcasing the vibrant talent of our local LGBTQ+ community.

Imagine your artwork gracing the walls of the PrimeYarc gallery, right in the heart of Market Gates, Great Yarmouth. This is your chance to shine, to share your vision, and to be a vital part of the Pride celebrations.

We’re throwing open the doors to all forms of artistic expression. Whether you’re a dab hand with drawing, painting, printmaking, or sculpture, a wizard of mixed media or digital art, a trendsetter in fashion, a captivating filmmaker, a weaver of words through creative writing or spoken word – we want to see what you’ve got! If you have another incredible art form we haven’t listed, tell us about it! As long as we can realistically present it, we’re keen to consider it.

This call for submissions is for everyone, and we particularly encourage LGBTQ+ artists living or working right here in Great Yarmouth and Waveney. Have you been creating in the shadows? Never exhibited before? This is your moment! We believe in the power of fresh perspectives and are eager to welcome new voices into the artistic landscape.

Mark your calendars! The Got to be Real exhibition will run from Saturday 16 August to Sunday 7 September at PrimeYarc. This beautifully coincides with Great Yarmouth and Waveney Pride, which takes place on Saturday 6 September, offering a fantastic platform to share your art with the wider community during this celebratory time.The gallery will be open for you and the public to enjoy on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from 12 pm to 4 pm. We envision this exhibition as a welcoming space for all ages, so please ensure your submissions are family-friendly.

For those whose artwork is selected, delivery to PrimeYarc will take place on Friday 8 August (12-6pm), Saturday 9 August (12-4pm), or Sunday 10 August (12-4pm).
