GYWPride is gearing up for our biggest celebration yet on Saturday, 6th September 2025, and we’re determined to make it a truly inclusive and accessible event for everyone.
That’s why we’re putting out a special call to our community: we need YOU to help us sign our Main Stage!
We believe that everyone deserves to experience the joy, energy, and celebration that GYWPride offers. To ensure that our Main Stage performances are accessible to our Deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees, we’re seeking passionate and skilled British Sign Language (BSL) interpreters to volunteer their time.
Why is this so important?
Pride is about visibility, inclusion, and celebrating diversity in all its forms. By providing BSL interpretation, we’re breaking down barriers and ensuring that everyone can fully participate in the magic of our Main Stage. Imagine the impact of making music, speeches, and performances truly accessible to everyone. You’ll be a vital part of creating a welcoming and inclusive space for our community.
What are we looking for?
* Experienced BSL Interpreters: We need individuals with a strong command of BSL, capable of interpreting a variety of content, including music, speeches, and performances.
* Passion for Inclusion: A genuine desire to make Pride accessible to everyone is essential.
* Availability on Saturday, 6th September 2025: We need volunteers who can commit to a portion or the entirety of the Main Stage programme.
* Team Players: We’re looking for individuals who can work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with our event organisers and stage crew.What will you be doing?
* Providing live BSL interpretation of Main Stage performances.
* Working closely with our event team to ensure smooth and effective interpretation.
* Helping to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all attendees.Why volunteer with GYWPride?
